Meet Titi, one of the Strong Girls in the SGUW training program: Titi, like most girls in rural communities in Sierra Leone found herself "out of school" with no job prospects and this is a dangerous place to find yourself as a teenage girl. Exploitation, poverty, child marriage, GBV, the sex trade- were looming around corners for her as they are for so many others. Now, with financial and mentoring support from SGUW and her family's blessing, she is happily enrolled in tailoring classes at our partner training site- the Sierra Leone Opportunities Industrialization Centre (SLOIC)- a vocational institute in Bo town. Tailoring is a highly skilled trade which will provide Titi a lifetime of economic and personal freedom. Go Titi- a seriously Strong Girl!
